As the Bride and Groom began planning their New York Botanical Garden wedding they had one advantage over other couples: the Bride’s family have been celebrating milestones for years with parties designed by X-Quisite Flowers & Events, Inc.!
15 years ago we provided decor for the Bride’s Bat Mitzvah – and her sister’s Bat Mitzvah a couple of years later. Trusting a wedding vendor is much simpler when you’ve worked together before, and the wedding design process is smoother when you’ve seen what your wedding designer can do. Not to mention the daunting task of creating striking floral arrangements for a wedding at a historic landmark that boasts 28 specialty gardens! Luckily, X-Q designed weddings at NY Botanical in 2014 and 2015.
“It’s quite impressive to say that our flowers were a highlight against an extraordinary venue, but the care, creativity and professionalism of Richard was truly spectacular. Everyone at the event was raving about the flowers.”

Wedding Ceremony Flowers & Decor
We used the purple and white color theme to make the floral arrangements stand out in the lush, green private garden where the Bride and Groom said, “I do”.
At the top of the aisle, the bride passed under a processional arch created from curly willow branches ascending from large glass cylinder vases trimmed with lilies, orchids, hydrangea florets and sprays of lavender dendrobium orchids.
Wedding Aisle Decor
Assorted glass cylinder vases with submerged white dendrobium orchids under floating candles lined the wedding aisle, nestled between lines of pink and white flower petals.
We designed a wedding arch of the same curly willow branches used for the processional arch, but this time used colorful bouquets of dendrobium orchids in light pink, hot pink and white to create a stunning tableau where the groom awaited his bride. Elegant sheer draping made sure the bright blooms stood out against the green shrubs and trees of the idyllic setting.
The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies. Her bridesmaids, in lavender dresses, held bouquets of Picasso calla lilies, purple stock flowers and off-white roses.
X-Q transformed The Garden Terrace Room at New York Botanical Garden for the wedding reception with lighting design, table decor, floral arrangements and centerpieces.
Our purple lighting design created an intimate setting for the wedding reception, along with individually lit centerpieces at the tables throughout the room.
Wedding Reception Centerpieces
We created a striking tableau using a variety of floral centerpieces. The low centerpieces mirrored the aisle decor, using assorted glass cylinder vases and floating candles. We placed pebbles at the bottom of the vases and submerged one type of flower into each, including calla lilies, cymbidium orchids and roses.
We also designed tall centerpieces for the wedding reception in tall trumpet vases.
The glass stems of the trumpet vases featured a submerged Picasso callas lily, the perfect bloom in white and purple for the towering arrangements.
Bursting with blooms above the tables, the tall centerpieces were created with different white flowers along with purple stock and lisianthus. Large white hybrid Casablanca lilies climbed the arrangement over sprays of phaleonopsis orchids, dendrobium orchids, hybrid delphinium, roses, hydrangea and snapdragons. Once again calling back to the ceremony floral design, we added curly willow branches to the tops, giving the flowers a wild, lively feel perfect for the wedding venue.
Having worked with X-Quisite Flowers & Events, Inc. previously, the Bride knew she could count on us for stunning linens and menus perfectly designed for the occasion.
Below you’ll see the gold linen overlays and mercury gold votive candles used with the wedding party’s bouquets to create a striking home for the wedding cake.
We were thrilled to get to design this lovely wedding for a family we know so well and to bring the Bride and Groom’s vision to life at New York Botanical Garden!
“I hired Richard from X-Quisite for a 3rd time for my daughter’s wedding (he previously did two bat mitzvahs). The fact that I am a triple repeat customer says a lot…. As I shared with him a couple of days after our event, “when my next daughter gets engaged, you will be my first call””
